With extra peace and hopefulness to anyone impacted by the big storm here in the northeast (and anyone below that getting hit with rain instead of snow!). Everybody stay warm and safe.
I love this alien princess and she needs more attention.
3Below was wonderful, and Aja Tarron is THE BEST. I would protect her with my life even though she doesn’t need it. Cannot. WAIT. For. Season. Two.
(And yes, that is the Diablo Maximus in her hand, there. She is indeed Queen in waiting of everything.)
….a prompt to which I say that I don’t exist in the “Tock the Gnome” world (that I’ve been mostly focusing on) but Mariatu certainly does!
She’s been a part of the story since before Tock herself even existed, and certainly stands more for me than any other character (and Misu, for my Wife 💙). She stands for much of who I thought I wanted to be when I created her as a teenager, and much of who I do want to be in the world now. She’s evolved with me, and for that I am very grateful.
So, here she is, in my stead.
The Gnome statue she’s holding is based on the Uppsala Gnome from the books by Rien Poortvliet and Wil Hyugen, in honor of my Gnomishness (even though dear Mariatu ended up Elven! Which, honestly, just shows how far back she goes – but that full story is for another time).
Thanks for sticking with me for another challenge, everyone. Absolutely taking a break from these now. And I hope everyone has a safe, smooth end to 2018, with a blessed and bright start to 2019!
More catchup and Gnomish-Elven connection ❤ (And only one more left for this challenge, after this!)
Sunday Gnomedays 12-30-18/dElfcember day 30, “Bonds”
Specifically, bonds of friendship.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my own friendships over the last couple of days, and though I don’t always keep in touch very well, I appreciate every single person I am able to call friend – be it a friendship in person, or a bond that was created over fangirling and artwork online.
Thank you, every one of you, for being here for me.
(Couldn’t not draw one of her “elves” for this challenge, too!)
Day 27, “Dobby”
From “Harry Potter,” of course, loving his Free Elf self!
Day 28, “Unicorn”
This one was really calming to draw 🙂
Also, this one does still count for “Tock the Gnome” world-building – there are certainly Unicorns in Tock’s world….I just haven’t figured out the context yet. Any further information will likely show up on Patreon, if you’re interested.
Day 29, “Mead”
Despite the very specific prompt, as mead is made from honey, it got me thinking about bees instead. Angry ones, by the way my day was going 🐝😅🐝💥
So between this one and yesterday’s prompt of “Totem,” this week at “Tock the Gnome” we’re talking about the Elves and the nature of Faerie, and how that impacts their existence.
More catchup, and some notes for tomorrow…
Day 21, “Gift”
Featuring Misu and Mariatu of “Tock the Gnome” backstory, and the gift that is their life together after many, many trials.
This drawing also now belonging, appropriately, to my Wife, as part of her own Yule gift 😊
Day 24, “Red”
Bringing to my attention that that two other characters from a different part of that backstory have a red color scheme, and it just so happens that one banished the other…. but that’s all something that Tock herself needs to learn about, so 🤫
Day 25, “Totem”
So, an Elf and a symbol of her local forest spirit 🦌
This and tomorrow’s prompt will be combined for World Building Wednesday, stay tuned for more Elven Faerie connection!
Happy holiday, by the way, to everyone celebrating today!
