More Tock and Onna. Because I can ❤
Enjoy, and hope your day is filled with the warmth of similar embraces.
Time for another “Tock the Gnome” world building post, dear readers!
This week, in honor of this last day of Pride Month (and thusly, the last day of this drawing series!), we’re looking at character building work for the sweethearts of our story, Tock and Onna 💗🌈💗
Click here for the full post! (with two bonus illustrations, too!)
(And hope you enjoyed all the art! Remember to keep up on the comic and bonus tales to see their stories unfold ❤ )
For spnprideweek over on Tumblr 💖🏳️🌈💖 Today’s theme is “wlw/supporting characters,” so I had to throw down the gauntlet for Fairy Hunter (Charlie/Gilda. So underrated!! Especially since, as far as I remember, they were the first consensual, romantic LGBTQ kiss on the whole frakking show).
It’s another busy week, so I can’t contribute every day, but so grateful this event is happening and looking forward to posting for day 7, too 🖤
Sunday Gnomedays AND Orctober with Tock and Onna, from my comic “Tock the Gnome” 🖤
(At least for this first week, Onna is and will continue to be prevalent in 2020’s challenge, and I can’t pretend to be mad about it.)
This is really giving me Knight and Lady vibes – though Tock is no Lady and does not need defending, as we shall soon see. Also, I am grateful for the calm, tentative hope shining through both of them. It has been a challenging weekend, and it gives me hope, that my characters can manifest that even when I don’t feel it myself.
I wish, from the bottom of my heart, that your day goes as smoothly as possible and that you find something to shine for, even if just for a moment.
Time again (and Blessed Lammas to anyone celebrating!) 🌾🌞🌾
I actually didn’t realize the timing of this post, with the holiday, but I feel like it fits – from The Goddess and the Green Man, “It is now high summer and the union of Sun and Earth, of God and Goddess, has produced the First Harvest…. The word ‘Lammas’ is derived from ‘loaf mass’ and is indicative of how central and honoured is the first grain and the first loaf of the harvesting cycle…. August was considered an auspicious month for handfastings and weddings…. But underlying this is the knowledge that the bounty and energy of Lugh, of the Sun, is now beginning to wane. It is a time of change and shift. Active growth is slowing down and the darker days of winter and reflection are beckoning…”
So! I had already imagined that these two were at their wedding to each other ( ❤ ), and despite the lack of grain in the image, let us imagine that it is Harvest-time and their union is providing a bit of hope and Light in the face of the darkness to come.
If you celebrate, however you celebrate, may you have a bright, bountiful day!
A new page of “Tock the Gnome” is now up for reading!
“Tock the Gnome: The Rescue Quest” is about a Gnome woman named Tock, who lives in a Steampunk culture in a high fantasy world. Driven by a Fairy Tale about a trapped Elven princess on a floating island, she convinces her friend Bumble – an airship pilot – to join her quest to rescue her. They hire extra firepower from unfamiliar lands, and together they seek the island and the princess. But what they seek may not be quite what they expected…
Will contain queer characters and romance, size-positivity, Faerie, spiritual magic, conundrums and tomfoolery.
Time again, with “Tock the Gnome” Regency-AU-style 🌷
I’ve been reading Georgette Heyer’s “Charity Girl” for some self care lately, and while my hopes for queer romance in it are sure to be dashed, it is very fun, and I ended up drawing this (quite self-indulgently after the challenge of going back to my day job). So, very non-canon, but hope it charms you anyway!
Featuring a new Gnomish lady for “The Chronicles of Dru,” and her love Terry the Bairdy (Bird-fairy!), created by Raye Steinman (GrimReapette) and originally illustrated by Dr. Jaclyn Weber (DrMistyTang).
I’ve been lucky enough to contribute to the world of Dru before, and in reading “The Sunlit Crypts” and meeting Terry through the antics of the main characters, I couldn’t resist coming up with a Gnome girlfriend for her! Misty and Grim (and DrZime and ratscout!) were kind enough to oblige me, even to the point that she will actually appear in the next chapter of the story!
Thank you Grim, and all of you in charge of the world of Dru!
As for details on this Gnome – her name is Tuney (a nickname, but it stuck). She is an aspiring Bard who is terrible at music, but tries anyway. The nature of her trying – and the noise it caused, calling attention to her hidden village – led her community to suggest that she ply her craft elsewhere. Which led to her choosing to travel in search of her Bardic destiny, which led to her landing in Elf’s Port, which led to her meeting Terry, which led to them falling in love ❤
I am so flattered that she’s being brought even more into the Dru canon, and can’t wait to see where the story takes her!

Here it is. The Harlivy/Jane Eyre AU you never asked for.
Pamela Du-Barry Isley (middle surname from “Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass”) is orphaned in her infancy and adopted by her closest maternal relatives, against their will. In her childhood, she displays unladylike intelligence and a strange affinity for plants and poisons, leading to her relatives to ship her off to Wayne Institution – a very strict charity school, overseen by the abusive Mr. Woodrue.
