“Pam Ivy” – a Harlivy ‘Jane Eyre’ AU

“So follow me into the dark
Break up a piece of your heart”

~ “Sway With Me,” Saweetie & GALXARA, “Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)”

Here it is. The Harlivy/Jane Eyre AU you never asked for.

Pamela Du-Barry Isley (middle surname from “Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass”) is orphaned in her infancy and adopted by her closest maternal relatives, against their will. In her childhood, she displays unladylike intelligence and a strange affinity for plants and poisons, leading to her relatives to ship her off to Wayne Institution – a very strict charity school, overseen by the abusive Mr. Woodrue.

So I am lucky enough to be sibling to the best guy in the universe, and today is his birthday!!

Sometimes we appear to come from different planets, interest-wise, but he is truly one of the best people I know and I am blessed and honored to have gotten to watch him grow into the amazing man he is today.

Everybody send him some birthday love!!

Sunday Gnomedays 4-5-20

This one appears to be an exercise in contradictions….. which is how life has felt in general lately, tbh. Hanging in there with ferocity and aggressive intention of self care and self love.

(Which I’m not doing perfectly at all right now. But trying helps.)

I hope she helps you, too, if you’re in a similar space.

Seven Years today

personal_7years_rachelillustrates

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, especially to anyone who needs light and joy right now.

More personally: today, I am seven years sober.

I don’t talk about my alcoholism much on here – and usually, I try to be more vague when I do, but with all this physical isolation I think it helps to be as open and honest with each other as we can. So – very long story short, my life is very different from where I was in my active drinking. It may not always feel awesome, but I have come so far, and I hope anyone reading this – especially anybody who’s struggling with similar issues, today of all days – tries their best to hang on. It gets different. It gets better. And the pain doesn’t last forever, even when it comes back to visit.

Be safe and careful out there, okay?

And to everyone who’s loved me and supported me on my recovery path: Go raibh maith agat. I gcónaí.

(Thank you. Always.)

(P.S. This picture featuring Queen Arella from my comic “Tock the Gnome,” and a Unicorn for healing, with faerie butterflies for hope. You can read more about Arella in the bonus material on my Patreon anytime.)

Happy belated Sunday Gnomedays everyone (Wednesday Gnomedays?). Here’s two from my trip this weekend, for my brother’s fiancee’s bridal shower.
Everything at the event was lovely (hence the second, more general Gnome), and after rest I managed another based on something that’s happening for “Tock the Gnome” World Building Wednesday later today (hence the first, obviously Tock-related Gnome – the creative brain never stops working 😅).
Please enjoy, thanks for your patience, and see you for some more on those fruits this afternoon! ….Pooka not included.

Pen drawing – Leanan Sidhe

20190404_211043

Something I forgot to post a while ago ^^;

So now, for Throwback Thursday – an Elf/Leanan Sidhe I drew a while back (based on a photo of my own body that I wasn’t very fond of, actually. I ended up drawing this to try and help myself feel better about it. And it worked!). I was reminded about it recently due to this amazing post on Tumblr.

I imagine she’s listening for her next creative to devour inspire ❤
