Sunday Gnomedays 12-30-18/dElfcember day 30, “Bonds”

Specifically, bonds of friendship.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my own friendships over the last couple of days, and though I don’t always keep in touch very well, I appreciate every single person I am able to call friend – be it a friendship in person, or a bond that was created over fangirling and artwork online.

Thank you, every one of you, for being here for me.

Featuring Tock, of my “Tock the Gnome,” and Luke from my friend DrMistyTang‘s amazing comic “Grey Eyes.”

(Couldn’t not draw one of her “elves” for this challenge, too!)

Day 27, “Dobby”

From “Harry Potter,” of course, loving his Free Elf self!

Day 28, “Unicorn”

This one was really calming to draw 🙂

Also, this one does still count for “Tock the Gnome” world-building – there are certainly Unicorns in Tock’s world….I just haven’t figured out the context yet. Any further information will likely show up on Patreon, if you’re interested.

Day 29, “Mead”

Despite the very specific prompt, as mead is made from honey, it got me thinking about bees instead. Angry ones, by the way my day was going 🐝😅🐝💥

Prompt list from @monicamarinhoart.

Wizarding Weekend illustrations (plans, WIP)

So now that I’m getting back into the swing of working on things after Gnome and Fairy Fest, here’s a little teaser of what’s coming next!

I still need to be catching up on commissions again (almost done!) BUT on top of that is a project for the restaurant in the hotel I work at – Kilpatrick’s, the only Irish pub in Ithaca, which is participating in this year’s Wizarding Weekend.

This mural decorates the dining room, evoking the Irish countryside. So of course, the head Chef and restaurant manager want to Hogwarts it up 😀 And I am fortunate enough that they asked me! (They’ve also got me doing a coloring page placemat design for the Kids’ Menu, with Irish faeries, but more on that at a later time.)

I’m going to be putting Hogwarts castle on the hill there, of course, and a dragon flying in the background too. Measurements and plans are done for both of those, as well as actual drawing progress on a certain Professor and his ill-fated (but rescued) companion:

They’ll be standing in front of the cottage, of course.

More on this as I get more done! Hoping to be finished with the drawings by the end of the week. In the meantime, please check out the event’s website. Its quite literally magical fun 🙂
