A new page of “Tock the Gnome” is now up for reading!

Or start from the beginning here

~

“Tock the Gnome: The Rescue Quest” is about a Gnome woman named Tock, who lives in a Steampunk culture in a high fantasy world. Driven by a Fairy Tale about a trapped Elven princess on a floating island, she convinces her friend Bumble – an airship pilot – to join her quest to rescue her. They hire extra firepower from unfamiliar lands, and together they seek the island and the princess. But what they seek may not be quite what they expected…

NOTE: Will contain lesbian romance, size-positivity, Faerie, spiritual magic, conundrums and tomfoolery.

So the lovely DrMistyTang, Zimeta and ratscout have been holding a contest over on deviantART for their very, very fun series, “The Chronicles of Dru.”

(Contest information and all entries here.)

Getting this in nearly at the last second, but I had to join the fun! Below is my story submission and first, some supplemental art for it, including character design and details on how Gnomes are in Dru. As much fun as the story was to write, it was a super fun challenge and an honor to come up with Gnomish design for this world.

Now without further ado…

~ For Fairy Love, a “Chronicles of Dru” tale~

Navaie the Elf Witch left Elf Port well over a decade ago, and had no intention of ever going back.

😀

Finished up as a gift for a good friend of mine, who (as of a week ago) is in process of re-imagining her life in beautiful, sunny Florida, closer and closer to beautiful, sunny Disney World. So everyone wish her good luck, and I hope this hangs in her new home soon, with love and good juju!

That said, I am SO glad I got to finish this. Many many thanks to my amazing wife for the rose paper in the background, that came together perfectly after a few fated snafu’s. And yes. The beard is canon. This is truth.

I just found this remake so inspiring. I hope that Disney keeps on the trajectory they’re on, things keep getting better and better.

Time again 🙂 Also, this one feels weirdly connected to Gnomevember day 25 to me…..

NOTE! My original plan was to try and post one piece a day up til opening night….but that’s now tomorrow! So plan adjustment time. Here’s the final design set, and likely a reminder and more info will be posted tomorrow

So (as mentioned before) I have been blessed enough to get to do some design work for a local production of “The Snow Queen” by The Cherry Arts Many many many thanks to my friend Scott Hitz, of Pupphitz, for bringing me on. I’m extra excited and very grateful, in part, because this is among the fairy tales dearest to my heart.

Not to give away what they’re going to be used for, but here’s two more somethings from it

Information available here at The Cherry Arts’ website, as well as here and hereon Facebook, @thecherryarts on Instagram and Snapchat, and @CherryArtSpace on Twitter.

Full press release available here, too!
