Rachel Terwilliger is a fantasy/comic artist/illustrator currently working freelance and living in central New York state with her wife, two crazy cats, some hermit crabs and whatever other creatures and spirits grace their home. She works mostly in colored pencil and ink (and is very grateful for scanners).

Artist’s Statement

Through my work I want to explore and express Love and connectedness, how True self-love is important and how, through Spirit, we are all a part of each other and the world around us.

I will use art, image and story to show the truths of our own world, as best I understand them, through Fantasy, Faerie and Fairy Tale.

I will explore themes of identity, self importance vs. the greater good, body image and beauty, and letting go of the negativity that holds us all back.

I hope that through the lens of the Faerie realm, my experiences with it, I can offer hope to any others who are struggling – using my art and the stories that come through me as a valued tool for that purpose.

As a fellow artist as well as fluffy bellydancer, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed finding and paging through your art. Your non-hetero images were also a treat to find as well, as again, one doesn’t see them represented too often. All of these things were represented beautifully, positively, tenderly and with tons of heart. Thank you so very much!

    Kudos and Gratitude,

Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you keep an eye out for more here (and I just checked your Facebook link too, your work is lovely!) If you want to see more of mine, I update a bit more regularly (with finished work) on DeviantART and I have a webcomic that updates bi-monthly. Thanks again!
