Thank you for sending me this, I’m so sorry I didn’t reply, somehow I missed the new comment notification. I’ve replied on your most recent comment describing your event and what you have in mind, I look forward to hearing more from you. If you’d rather, I can also be reached at rachelillustrates@yahoo.com 🙂
Hello—
I would like to politely ask if I may use some of your artwork in the following described horse event. Neither I or my horse club will profit from the use of your work. It will not be destroyed or harmed. It will be drawn on a Masonite type board, colored with some markers and be about sixteen inches high. It will be used only once, but maybe reused next year… There is a professional photographer on the grounds taking pictures of the horses as it is a horse competition so the gnomes may be in the background of a photo.
The event is a Combined Driving Event. Horses who are trained to pull carts will go through obstacles or “mazes.” There is a licensed veterinarian on the premises at all times to be certain that these equine athletes are not pushed beyond their proper limits. Heart rate, pulse and respiration readings are taken at least twice. This activity is under the rules and regulations of the American Driving Society.
The obstacles (mazes) are decorated. There is this one area in our horse park that is a woody glen and often there are toadstools and mushrooms there. It just feels like this would naturally be a place for gnomes to gather. I want to put gnomes in this area.
May I?
Sincerely—
Mary Lu Norland

That sounds lovely, I’m honored for your interest and very grateful that you asked permission 🙂 Which pieces did you have in mind?
The gnome lady in the bonnet holding an umbrella and the gnome lady who is a little “generous”, barefoot and appears to be dancing. It would be so nice to be able to have some WOMEN in my “Gnome Village.” There are not many female gnomes out there. The event is September 20 & 21, I would be happy to take some photos so you could see how it all turns out…
Okay, glad those are the ones you want to use! I definitely understand about wanting women in there – sooooooo many Gnome men is the norm, isn’t it? I am happy to let you use them, but please do send me pictures 🙂 And if anyone asks about them, please also point them in my direction. Sound good?
So I FORMALLY have your permission for those two? And I will have your name and contact information in our program. Thanks! TONS!!
Yup, official formal permission is given 🙂 Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Oh, and you’re very welcome! Thanks again too for coming to me! So excited and pleased 😀
