Everybody everybody I got in to New York Faerie Festival!!! Aaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!

As such, this is just a quick note to say that all plans for all projects for the month are on pause. I will still be fulfilling patron benefits as best I can, but I will not be posting on here very regularly, beyond the Pike & Scanlan work I’ve planned for TGnIF (which is pretty much already set), until late June/early July.

Full notes on the excitement here, and WIP posts on new work and show prep as the date gets closer will be available at my Patreon.

As you can see above – it’s also Fanart Friday, wiiiiiith the inevitability and glory of my Wife and I having finally gotten into “Critical Role.” As you might imagine, I have LOTS of thoughts and feelings about one Pike Trickfoot (Gnome cleric of Sarenrae) and one Scanlan Shorthalt (Gnome bard of impressive and sometimes problematic self-importance).

As someone who played Gnome clerics and Gnome bards almost exclusively back when I got to play DnD myself…… *gestures wildly, because words are not enough*

So! With it being the month of the fae, as well – all of June’s TGnIF’s will be dedicated to these two in the Truth of Gnomish resonance, even if Faerie itself is treated much differently in many Dungeons & Dragons settings. Gnomes are always still fae, to me.

And we’re starting with Pike, because I love her so. Thank you Ashley Johnson for letting us get to know her!

(Also, NO SPOILERS. We are only on episode 20 and have not started the animated series yet.)

They hire extra firepower from unfamiliar lands, and together they seek the island and the princess. But what they seek may not be quite what they expected…

Proudly contains queer characters and romance, size-positivity, Faerie, spiritual magic, conundrums and tomfoolery.

Which is in the process of being healed, in certain ways….

Perry-love (Sansûkh)

So as busy as things are, I have been taking moments to slowly delve into the “Sansûkh” Appendices, and I recently got to “A New Coat.”

I have a loooooooooOoOoOo000Ot of thoughts on Perry and Gimizh as course-correction and closure for the (in canon) tragedy of Bagginshield, but that is addressed, tone-wise, by the fic itself, so you should really just go read it 💚

Also, if you haven’t read “Sansûkh” yet and are daunted by the scope of it, but want to get a taste of the universe to see what it’s like, I highly recommend jumping in here! Even if that’s unorthodox. This story is just a lovely, self-contained Hobbit/Dwarf rom com on its own, and a great example of the beauty of determamfidd’s writing.

In any and all cases, be surviving and coping as best you can, everyone 🌼

Featuring a surface-town Mayor, of the Gnomes of “Tock the Gnome.” This was drawn under slight self-imposed duress, with life still being A Lot, BUT I’m glad I pushed forward on it because there are at least three really interesting things happening here that will be discussed in next week’s World Building Wednesday, if all goes to plan.

(I am rubbing my hands together and chuckling in a mildly devious manner.)

It has been an intense week, dear followers. But it’s not over – “it” meaning “all.” You’re still here. I’m still here. It is not too late.

(Also, I considered rescanning this because of the shadow in the upper corner, near the tip of her hat and the energy there. BUT because of erasing and reworking the pose, there is similar shadowyness around one of her hands, so now I think that means something about calling that energy down, for action. So, with the above in mind, I’m keeping it.)
